Who Wore It Better (Fashion)

Starry nights are incomplete without oomph of fashion, glam, paparazzi and of course a team of creative individuals brainstorming backstage to put the best looks forward. Yes, we are talking about the leading celebrities dazzling like divas in all their glory on the Red Carpet. Stunning styles, mesmerizing beauty looks floor everyone but let’s do a fair analysis of who does it better when it comes to defining an individualistic style. From the best awards night, all around, let’s see who’s dressed fab and drab.

Lady in Red

Deepika Padukone in Prabal Gurung- 6.5/10

A scintillating Red carpet favourite, this leading Bollywood queen surely slays in this deep back red gown embellished with original Swarovski crystals. Bringing forth a pretty feminine look with those bright scarlet lips and slick back hair in a low bun perfectly exuding elegance. Of course, look at that toned body totally complimenting her ensemble yet we feel she’s a little undone.

Keeping it minimal is definitely DP’s style stamen but it’s Red carpet Filmfare awards darling, don’t take it too down.

Priyanka Chopra in Jason Wu- 8/10

This woman has beauty and fame unparalleled to any other Indian actress. With a million feather in her cap, she gets our brownie points for gracing the Red Carpet like a queen herself. Nobody does red on red better than Piggy Chops, enough said. The Asian designer Jason Wu chose the best version of red and the silhouette is so flowy that PC couldn’t help but play around. We love her flawless skin popping out the shade of red pout just right. And the slick back ponytail reminded us of the back-to-school time yet it’s worthy.

The Black Beauty

Taylor Swift in Herve Leger, 6/10

Does it get any hotter? Herve Leger tailored gown to perfection hugging Swift’s delicate curves is such a treat to eyes. Her makeup looks on point with a flashy red pout and dramatic eyes with endless coats of mascara adds a natural grace. But what’s wrong with her hair, bashing a beautiful look with 20’s pin curls? Just not the right way to pull off a vintage hairdo at VMA’s. We are disappointed.

Parineeti Chopra in Shivan & Naresh, 7.5/10

Chopra sister knows how to surprise us and we just couldn’t help but gather our jaws from dropping. Parineeti slayed in Shivan & Naresh’s black evening gown adding sheer drama and elegance. Look at that statement clutch makes us go wow. She gets our vote for balancing her beauty look by going all nude and smudged kohled eyes.

Tangerine Twist

Alia Bhatt in Sachin & Babi, 8/10

This young femme fatale carries all her outfits like a boss and never ever disappoints us. Off shoulder floral evening gown paired with non-matching heels because why not? She was all bubbly, flirty and feminine with a touch of tangerine lips adding to the cutesy she is. Curled locks and a pit to die for, you’re a slayer!

Mandy Moore in Prabal Gurung, 7/10

The lady who won our hearts in A Walk to Remember starring in This is Us was nominated for Emmy’s 2016 and decided to go all sunny side up for the fanfare. Mellow yellow flattered her beautiful figure embracing the frills and halter, she dabbed tangerine on her lips to make us go cray. Oh yea, flushed blushed cheeks and tangerine lips go hand-in-hand. She could have been more playful with that damp hairdo though.

Side Swept

Emmy Rossum in Wes Gordon, 6/10

The charming smile says it all but we so wish Emmy could dress up better for Emmy’s. She chose pale on pale which doesn’t work for Red carpet darling. Donning an all-white deep neck maxi with a slit takes us to somewhere in Maldives at a beachside maybe. Side swept curls to flaunt her sexy back is again a no-no. Nude lips and natural skin dampens up the look. We ain’t getting a Pina Colada at Red Carpet Emmy?

Athiya Shetty in Monisha Jaising, 7.5/10

The debutante knows her style real well and she gave us major #bridesmaidgoals too. Pulling off her ensemble like a pro, Athiya wore rose lips and smudged smokey eyes o add some drama. Also, side swept hair done well with luminous finesse.  We’re a fan.

Golden Glory

Claire Daines in Schiaparelli,7/10

Sparkling in this gold embellished evening gown , Claire looked like nothing but a clown. Going au natural with a flashy couture and Forevermark diamonds. Really? We would rather drown. That reddish texture in her skin looks like she just came back from sunbathing in Miami and wrapped up the gold foil for a Gala soiree. Not our taste bro.

Shriya Saran in Gaurav Gupta, 8/10

Now that’s what we call a cult look. Chignon upping her sexy game in a sheer golden gown by the veteran designer Gaurav Gupta. Look at that backless finish and dazzling details. We’re in love with this look. Totally a killer for Red carpet. Makeup done just right with a right shade of nude and dramatic bold eyes. Charmer Shriya huh.
