Neil Bhoopalam who was seen in films like No One Killed Jessica, Shaitan and David, has been seen mostly doing supporting roles. However, the actor finally got a chance to play a lead role in the movie NH10 starring Anuhska Sharma. Neil Bhoopalam played the role of Anuhska Sharma’s husband and the actor received accolades for his performance in NH10 also. But it seems Neil is somewhat upset about the fact that he is yet to make a name in the industry while, Anushka has already become one of the top actresses of Bollywood.
In an exclusive interview, Neil Bhoopalam said that he and Anushka Sharma started their Bollywood career at the same time and apparently expressed sadness that while, Anushka made it large for herself in the industry, he is yet to make a mark here. “I was shocked when I came to know that Anushka started her Bollywood career at the age of 19. I was also 19 when I entered Bollywood. The only difference was that Anushka started her career with superstars and she also got commercial success which I didn’t get,” said Neil Bhoopalam. The actor further said that he hopes to make a mark in the industry with his performance in the movie NH10. “Although, I was unable to get big films till date, I hope to earn some big films with substancial roles after the release of NH10. I am happy that I got a chance to work with Anushka,” added Neil.
When 24 first came to me, I said no. I wasn’t interested in doing TV. Though I knew about the concept of the show, I was clueless about other details. Whatever information I had about 24 was through newspaper articles. Then the casting director for the show, Roshni Banerjee, who is a friend of mine, insisted I come for the audition. She kept coaxing me. Then I did some homework and agreed to it and the rest is history.

Having a casting director as your wife actually helps. She is more qualified when it comes to judging the content that I am doing. She helps me in my decision making process. What happens with me is that when I read a script, I just focus on my character, but she looks at the complete package. We work as a team and yes, we have fights too and most of the time she wins as she is the wife.
