Most of the models who walked the Desigual runway show at New York Fashion Week did so wearing practically no makeup. Inspired by the #NoFilter hashtag on social media, Gordon Espinet, SVP of makeup artistry at MAC Cosmetics and the lead makeup artist at Desigual, simply applied moisturizer to the models’ faces. He left everything else, like freckles or rosy cheeks, uncovered.
But five of the models got the Snapchat treatment, looking like they were wearing the filters you know and love IRL. Makeup artists used MAC Cosmetics paint and pigment to create the filters on the models’ faces, while paper flower crowns and butterflies were carefully crafted and attached to two models’ heads.
