Nisha Javeri speaks on the trend of couples spa therapy and men’s spa outings, on the occasion of the opening of her second spa outlet in Mumbai.
From diving deep into the sea, relaxing over candle-lit dinners with live music to exploring wildlife, there are plenty of ways to relax. These days, a spa experience too is all about ever-expanding possibilities, allowing guests to choose their own adventure. Nisha Javeri, a well-known socialite and noted owner in a dialogue with Glam & Glaze share the way she wind down even as we’re ironically looking after their spa businesses.
No prizes for guessing that Nisha Javeri, founder of Myrah Spa, Mumbai, is a spa enthusiast herself. But Javeri reveals that while she indulges in a spa treatment at least once a week, she is yet to enjoy a session with any of her besties. “My first Myrah branch is in Juhu while all my besties live in town,” she reasons. Now that she has opened the doors to her second branch, on the city’s iconic Queen’s Necklace itself, she could perhaps look forward to some spa time with her gal pals.
As compared to the Juhu Spa, the South Mumbai spa has a contemporary outlook with a modern feel. Conceptualised by Javeri herself, it occupies 1,200 sq feet of tranquil space and is inspired by European architecture. The spa has 5 massage rooms, each with a steam and a waterfall shower and a couple’s treatment room with mood light lighting and a full sized jacuzzi. The spa offers an extensive list of treatments from massages, body treatments, facials and skincare, couples treatment, slimming.
“Everyone today wants to destress. Couples love to spend time with each other and taking a couples treatment at a spa is one of the romantic options available these days. A lot of people are gifting their loved ones with a Spa experience. Our detox treatments are very popular too. Couples typically like to spend about 2 to 4 hours pampering themselves together and bonding. The most popular treatment is the hydrotherapy which sees a beautiful arrangement of candles, flowers and music for the coup ..
Men, she says, are increasingly opening up to the idea of a spa treatment as well. “The difference is that men prefer a good massage to de-stress and women like to try different treatments like body polish, envelopments and skincare options.”
