Purplehed is the stage name for Ashutosh Upadhyay who is a Songwriter, Singer and Record Producer. He is also the founder of Purplehed Records. His idea behind establishing the record label is to explore modern music and dance art forms with the aim of inspiring people. Purplehed found his love for music early on playing in bands during IIT and after. He started exploring music further by creating background scores for contemporary dance productions before launching his music as an independent label. Purplehed ‘s Debut single ‘Feel the passion’ was released on July 24, 2015 while his second single ‘Burn Like the Sun’ is tribute to ex – President of India – Late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam released on January 26, 2016

Purplehed Records: is an independent record label based in Mumbai, India, which began operations on May 14, 2014, founded by two brothers AshutoshUpadhyay an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and Anurag Upadhyay an alumnus of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal. Performing arts, such as music and dance, have always been a passion for these two.

The music video explores contemporary dance depicting two chained imaginary characters that represent the nature of struggle and the pain people go through. The journey of breaking these chains is powered by karma and the ecstasy is portrayed through the joyous dance movements where body, mind & soul let go off the chains.
