The power-packed day 1 of the 30th edition of Amazon India Fashion Week SS’18 saw some milestones celebrating their existence in the industry along with a bright hope for the young minds to cater the world with tasteful and traditionally rich fashion.
Rimzim Dadu
Celebrating 10th year in the fashion industry, Rimzim Dadu presented a versatile wardrobe brimming with separates, guaranteed to see you from beach to boardroom. Known for the creative play of textiles, the artist stayed true to her signature aesthetic by playing with surface textures to lend fluidity to structured silhouettes from saris to skater dresses. The colour palate included monochrome and a mix of metallics.
Wendell Rodricks
Called Indigofera, the collection by Padma Shri award-winning designer, Wendell Rodricks focused on shades of blue offset by quintessential summer hues such as ivory, rose quartz and pale green. For these models strutted by in simple, streamlined silhouettes elevated with dramatic finishing touches. The collection’s uniqueness included deftly pleated collars and tiered sleeves.
Anupamaa by Anupama Dayal
This season, Anupama Dayal splashed the ramp with her bright Jalpari collection packed with vibrant separates from kaftans to fuss-free dresses. Sea life prints, bright butterflies, swishing tassels and fringe details were used to make it a perfect holiday wardrobe.
JJ Valaya
Celebrating the 25th year in the industry the collection of this veteran designer was based on his design narrative Gulistan, inspired by nature, Jamavar or Indian paisleys and Punjab, which drew from the court dressing of the Maharajas of Kapurthala. The ramp saw an interesting end with Rahul Mishra and Ashish N Soni walking the ramp for the designer.
