Gaurav Gupta’s Sculpt Saga at LFW W/F’15 finale

Emerged from Lakme’s seasonal style campaigns and marketing machinations, the grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 15 by Gaurav Gupta titled ‘Sculpt’ was splashed with white, black and red.

Crafting it creatively with much oomph, Gaurav’s “Sculpt” was an integral part of his dynamic creative process which was strongly embellished with sculptural proportions and was also spread on the elaborated set of his runway presentation.

The clothes of the finale emerged from the giant nymph-like bust from the centre of a circular catwalk at the regal Mehoob studio. Starting with a line of whites or Showtime Ivory the colour saga traveled a palette of Albatross Black, Moondown Gray, Reminescent Red, a swirling monochrome pattern and some striking bugle-beaded creations.

There were plenty of his trademark sculptural shoulders, peek-a-boo drapes and elaborate boning, undulating shapes. But the most glamorous part of the finale was Kareena Kapoor Khan who was clad in a black and sheer one-sleeved gown and when she received the standing ovation we felt yes it was all worth.
