With the onset of the season of festivals with Navratri, the celebration has become more special and all thanks to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and team Padmavati. The release of the first poster with regal Deepika Padukone in view is just spellbinding.

.

Personifying royalty, Deepika is doing full justice to her character of Rani Padmavati of Chittod.

The entire look of Padmavati is meticulously designed and developed by Delhi-based designers Rimple and Harpreet Narula.

According to industry sources, the duo went through an intense research process that involved several trips to the Jaipur and Calico museums, studying various old textiles as well as old murals and miniature paintings to rightly capture the nuances of styling the lead cast – Deepika, Shahid, and Ranveer.

The main motif of the lehenga in view is created using traditional zardozi, and is the symbolic Tree of Life which again has connotations of divinity as well as man’s connection to the cosmos, a warrior’s strength and resolve while the border of the lehenga has been derived from architectural details of Rajasthani palace windows and jharokhas.

The odhnis of the ensemble have been styled in the traditional way that is still prevalent in the Mewar belt of Rajasthan

The magnum opus by Sanjay Leela Bhansali that also has Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead is scheduled to hit the theatres on 1st December
