The 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards were held last evening amid much controversy and calls for boycotting the ‘paid awards’ ceremony.
The Best Actor awards went to Aamir Khan for Dangal and Alia Bhatt for Udta Punjab; Dangal won the Best Film award; the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award went to Shatrughan Sinha; Best Actor in a Supporting Role went to Rishi Kapoor for Kapoor & Sons (Since 1921) and Shabana Azmi for Neerja; and the Best Music Album went to Pritam for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. While the credibility of the awards is surely suspect and ignored some of our favourites, including Randeep Hooda, the sartorial brilliance on display at the red carpet warrants some attention.
